Ian Browning

Ian attends the Pontypool Corps where he a Territorial Envoy and the Corps Leader.

He is employed both as a Regional Director of PD Edenhall Ltd (a construction products Manufacturer) and as a part-time Salvation Army Territorial Envoy.

Ian has been married to Sara for 33 years. They have 3 children, 1 granddaughter and 2 more grandchildren coming in October.

He has previously played with Bargoed and Risca Salvation Army bands, Celynon Colleries band, Llwydcoed band and Crosskeys Silver Band. Ian was the South Wales Divisional Youth bandmaster from  1996 to 2001 and was the bandmaster of Risca Salvation Army band from 1994 to 2010.

His favourite piece of music is "Resurgam" by Eric Ball.

Ian has numerous banding moments of which he is proud including:-

1. Leading the Divisional Youth band as "duty band" at the William Booth Training College for the new Lieutenants farewell and marching the band together with the Cadets and the newly commissioned Salvation Army Officers into Ruskin Park for an an open air service.

2. Marching Risca band into Canterbury Cathedral grounds for an open air service.

3. Leading Risca Salvation Army band at the UK Territory Congress in 2008

4. Conducting the Cory band playing "Star Lake"

5. Having an entry in Dr Richard Holtz book "The History of Salvation Army Bands Volume 1", naming Risca Salvation Army band as one of the "top 30 UK Territory brass bands" in 2006
