Jan Sutcliffe

Solo Horn Eb

Jan attends the corps at Treharris where she is the pianist, plays in the band, is the leader of the male voice party/the mixed voices group/the timbrels, she is part of the Corps Council, produces the monthly newsletter and "anything else I'm asked to do".

She is married to Ged who, although he doesn't go to the army, supports her 100% with all her army activities. They have two children - Gareth and Georgia.

Jan has previously played with Salvation Army bands at Bargoed and Risca, and says her favourite band piece is the 'The Light of the World' by Dean Goffin.

Jan's proudest banding moment was when Bargoed YP Band played at the Colston Hall in Bristol. Her uncle, Ron Price (a current member of the Fellowship band) was the band leader at the time and their solo piece was "Melodies from Great Composers" which included the William Tell overture. The resounding applause they received from the congregation is a memory that Jan says she will never forget. To quote Jan - "Those are happy memories to have had the pleasure in playing with such a great group of young people".
